Why Traditional East Asian Medicine Works So Well
-
It's tailored to you.
When you arrive in my office, I assess you as you are in that moment, and in how your life context has affected that state. I customize your treatment specifically to that with a toolbox of techniques from acupuncture, tuina bodywork, and herbal medicine.

-
Its methods are thousands of years old.
The techniques I apply have been refined via practical application over thousands of years, evolving into an efficient, coherent paradigm of medicine that consistently works. Modern science and traditional concepts work hand and hand in what I do.

-
I get to the root.
While your back pain may be being caused by something immediate--say, a herniated disc, the stiffening of stenosis, or injury from a fall--even as I treat that painful branch, I use careful diagnosis to determine the root of your discomfort, and make sure it doesn't come back.

How did I get into acupuncture?
I originally started thinking about acupuncture after my mother had surgery for spinal stenosis. All the EMT skills I had at the time turned out to feel quite useless—I didn’t know how to relieve her pain, to direct her rehabilitation so she could heal faster, or what she could eat or take to help things along.
I realized, in that very frustrated moment, that switching to acupuncture could provide all of those skills, and so I as I gained the new knowledge and understanding of Traditional East Asian Medicine, I was able to help my mother feel so much better, and now I find joy in doing exactly that for others as well.
